MR Draft / WarpCon / Jap MR Draft Info:
Congrats to Wayne Kwan for winning the Mirrodin Booster Draft on 25-01-2004 in the Gingerbread House. Equally, congratulations to Ian Desmond for winning the 1st Japanese Mirrodin Draft on 06-02-2004 in GBH.

I would like to commend the War-gaming And Role-Playing Society (WARPS) of UCC for their wonderful convention. WarpCon XIV was an absolute blast, and just like the previous years, Magic has continued to keep me from trying any of the weekend RPG's. I attended both the Extended PTQ and the Darksteel Sneek Peek. Both were very fun events and the competition that came to Cork from outside was tough but appreciated. If you missed this year's events, please take a look at the pics I snapped over the weekend to get a sample of what you are missed out on. Book on your calenders now for next year's Con!

The Pics: The 2nd Japanese Mirrodin Draft will be in the Gingerbread House this Friday 13th.

Brushlands Tournament Info:
The joint winners were Cian Hinds playing R/W Slide and Brad Peyton playing Quickfinity. The semi-finals were Brad Peyton vs. Sean Peyton playing Mono-Red Ponza, and Cian Hinds vs. Conor Harding playing Kibbler Zombies. Conor was just as devastated as Sean, both being killed by big burn (Rift [x3] and Shrapnel Blast [x3] respectively). That's 3/4 of the semi's being TBG members! Also, thanks to Su Wang for showing up to the event, helping us show Cork that we mean business! Great job guys!

P.S. - Someone needs to tell Ian McCarthy that alcohol and Magic don't mix.
He played 1st turn Birds of Paradise, 2nd turn Pyroclasm!

Great news!
I've just ordered a box of Japanese Mirrodin for a draft that I will be doing in early February. I hope to hold the event at the Gingerbread House on some undetermined Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night. I will post more details when I know them. You may contact me in advance to reserve a spot for the draft.

The 8th Edition Booster Draft has been postponed until February or as soon as I receive 'sanctionability' from the DCI. The style is normal booster draft. The price will be €12 per person. I will be accepting people on a linear basis and people beyond the 8th will act as subs for those who do not turn up for the event. Everyone who wishes to sign up can contact me. Please include your full name and DCI Number. The current list of sign-ups will be posted on the news page navigation bar. Warning!: This event will be sanctioned and will be held at REL 1 rules enforcement. Land base will be supplied.

January 5th 6:15 GBH ON/LE/SC Draft News:
The draft was won by Brad Peyton using a mono-black zombie deck. He went 3-0 against his brother, the 2nd place finalist, Sean Peyton who was playing a aggressive W/R provoke deck. The 2nd game looked bad for Brad when he got stuck on 4 swamps with a game-turning Noxious Ghoul [3BB] in hand. After Brad played a Ghastly Remains and amplified for 6, revealing the Noxious Ghoul, Sean commented that he didn't want Brad to get that 5th Swamp on his next turn. Unfortunately for Sean, a swamp was drawn and when the Noxious Ghoul came into play most of Sean's small soldiers and clerics bit the dust, leaving Sean open for a 6/6 beating from which he never recovered.

I would like to congratulate the 'gang' on their great showing at this draft. We were 4/8: Cian Hinds (0-2), Edward Murphy (1-2), Sean Peyton (2-1), and Brad Peyton (3-0). Both finalists were 'gang' members! Be happy guys, we're headed to the top!

I am going to be running an 8th draft mid-to-late January if at all possible, so if you are interested please contact me to sign up. I will keep a list of open drafting spaces up on the site, on the news page's navigation bar ONLY. The cost is likely to be €12, as this is my 1st event and I do not have any 'cheap' product at hand. I will be offering prize [non-Legions] boosters in the following order: 3-2-1-1. This means prizes for the top 4 players at an 8-player event! Hopefully that will compensate for the extra cost.

Hey everybody, new site designed by Yautja! I want everyone to know that he made this because he is my mentor in html coding. I actually understand the html behind this now. Bwahahahaaaaaa! Death to the old, created anew and gleaming in all its artificial glory. Long live DSC! (and this very spiffy new website!)

This new site hopes to help out those of you who feel a bit removed from (non-existant) clan activities. We hope to incorporate the collectible card game (CCG) Magic: The Gathering into this site due to the large number of players in DSC who have turned to favor it over computer games. I warned you all that it would suck your money into some large gaping hole in Richard Garfield's* wallet, but no, you wanted to play the game!

Also, I would like feedback on what people thing of the site name being changed to thebradgang.com instead of the terribly long goofy current one. Don't ask me what I was thinking when I started DSC, but I think that it's time that it has a much needed facelift. If you disagree with me please post some spam on the message board. If you don't feel like doing anything, you lazy bastard, then I'll assume you're fine with what I'm saying.

Please, also check out Chris Brunt's Comics, a new hosted page of DSC at Brunt Comics

Also, I would like to congratulate Cian Hinds (ClassZdefiler) of his victory at a Lee Murphy Type 2 (standard) event. He came 1st place using 10-Counter Affinity which he borrowed from Seàn FitzGerald. There should be a similar deck in the Standard Deck database of this site.

The End?, No ... It is only the beginning.
